I started shooting competitively at Rio Salado (Mesa, Arizona) in 1988 and stopped in 1991 after the birth of my first son. I restarted my competitive shooting in October 2010. At Rio, I was fortunate to shoot with some of the truly best shooters in our sport, including TGO (Rob Leatham) and Nils Jonasson.
In 2013, we moved to St George Utah where my new home range is the Southern Utah Practical Shooters (SUPS) range. It is an awesome range that is well equipped with 22 bays. I donate a lot of time volunteering at the range with their free clinics and matches. Â I serve as the Board Member at Large and am one of the match directors for Tuesday Night Steel and for 3-Gun.Â
I am the Head Coach for the Dixie Pixies (SUPS ladies shooting team) as well as Jalise and Justine Williams. Jalise and Justine are 11 and 10 years old respectively, and have huge talent and will be phenoms as they gain more experience.
The Tactical Performance Center (TPC) is based out of SUPS, and I have had the great fortune of taking several clinics there: Handgun, 3-Gun, Carbine. These were taught by Ron Avery and Keith Garcia. I am TPC Instructor Level 2 certified.
For handgun, I shoot USPSA and compete in Open, Limited, Production, and Single Stack Divisions. I accomplished my mid-2014 goal of earning USPSA Master Class ranking in Limited. Â So begins the challenging road to Limited GM and Master for the other divisions.
I really enjoy shooting 3-gun for the multi-faceted challenges it presents. I compete in the Tactical Scope Division and in 2015, I will split my focus between handgun and 3-Gun, participating in more 3-Gun events in 2015.
